Francisco Liriano throws a no-hitter against the Chicago White Sox on May 3, 2011.
Liriano is a great pitcher who has not had the best start to this season. Entering the game, his ERA was above 9 and the Twins were in a 6-game losing streak. With 6 walks and only 2 K, Liriano threw the no-no with Adam Dunn coming as the last out. Jason Kubel hit a solo-homer to score the game’s only run. Hopefully, Liriano can gain some confidence back, and the Twins can begin to turn things around.
I’m so proud! I thought he was gonna throw one last season, but I’ll take the first No-Hitter of 2011, too!
We needed that. They needed that.
